What I Have Been Doing

It is so crazy that I haven't posted anything for 22 days. I have been very busy with Relief Society, work, kids, life, etc. This year in RS we are focusing on physical and spiritual preparedness. I have set up a blog for our ward that helps with this. It has been so fun but a lot of work to get it going. Through doing this I have found some great resources that have helped me get my food storage organized as well as saving money on my food bill by using coupons and finding great deals. It has been so fun to be able to save money while building my food storage of food that we eat. I got inspired to get my food storage in order. We don't really have a storage room so we made a makle shift one and it works great. I knew that for my size family I would need at least 900 pounds of wheat. I started storing wheat for Y2K and I have just been adding to my supply. Because I didn't have my storage organized I thought that I didn't have enough wheat but I know I had a good start. It turns out I have 1200 pounds of wheat. So needless to say I will be making wheat bread weekly as well as making my yummy wheat waffles. I went shopping this week with my new found money saving skills and I was able to get some great deals on the things we use daily. I spent $114.00 at one store but saved $134.00. The cashier couldn't believe I could do that. It was an awesome for me to feel like I am finally getting my life into control after years of crazy trauma. I really felt like this is the direction that we need to go as a RS and as a family. I am going to add the link to our RS blog maybe it can help out someone who is wanting to get prepared. Happy B-day Bill!!!

Another year has come around for Bill. Last year was the big 40, so this year it wasn't as traumatising for him. We had a lot of fun. We went out to Macaroni Grill for dinner. (Thanks to the Driskill Family) We had a great meal and them came home and opened presents. I had made his favorite cake, German chocolate, but we were all too full to eat any. It was fun to spend time together and celebrate Bill. We love you honey!! Thanks for all you do for us!!!

My Little Scooter

Jake has mastered the art of the one armed army crawl. It is so cute to watch him. He will scoot along and then when he stops to look at something he lays on his side, it is so cute to watch. He really could crawl on all fours he just doesn't know that he can do that. Thanks to my awesome Christmas present(thanks Jen) I can share his new skill with everyone.

Christmas, Better Late Than Never!

We had a very wonderful Christmas this year. The kids were so excited for Christmas. They all slept on Megan's bed Christmas Eve. In the morning they woke up and opened up presents that they bought for each other at the dollar store. After they opened each others presents they were ready to go see what they got from Santa. We all loved our presents and we all got just what we wanted. After opening all of the presents and cleaning up the mess we went to Grams for breakfast. We had a great time eating, playing with cousins and opening presents. Because it was so snowy we decided to have the Hendricks family party another day instead of that night. We had the party at our house on the 30th. We had a great time. Grandpa and Grandma Hendricks were able to come and it was so fun to be together. The kids loved playing with there cousins and opening presents. It was such a nice holiday season and the best part was being together as a family.

The Lost Tooth

Hailey has finally lost a tooth!! She has been waiting and waiting for the time when she could lose a tooth like her brother and sister. I asked Hailey if I could wiggle her tooth, it really wasn't too lose and a tooth was growing in behind it. So I wiggled it and it became very lose. Of course she cried and cried because it hurt, so she said. Later on that day she was eating lunch and she chewed the food with her front tooth and it hurt her, she cried and cried. Then she decided that she was brave and wanted Bill to pull her tooth. She thought it would be great if he got a pair of pliers to pull it out. She took one look at the pliers and cried and cried. She decided that it was too scary and painful to lose a tooth and she should just ignore it and someday it would come out on its own. Then I told her I would hold her hand while Bill wiggled her tooth. She laid on Bill's lap and I held her hand while Bill tried to get the tooth out, she had the look of terror in her eyes, poor girl. Then Bill flipped the tooth and it came out, however it didn't come out of her mouth she accidentally swallowed it. She ended up spitting blood on my carpet in hopes that the tooth was still in her mouth, no such luck. My poor drama girl, after all that she went through to get her tooth out, she ended up with the tooth in her tummy. Luckily the Tooth Fairy knew that she swallowed her tooth and she still was able to get a little token from her. What a smart tooth fairy.I can't wait for all of the other teeth she will lose; it is going to be fun!!!

Officer Jake

My big kids have been having a blast playing with Jake in a police car that Parker got many years ago. To make sure that Jake stays put in the car they have created a seat belt which keeps him from falling out. Megan made a little name tag for him that says "Officer Jake." They also like to have him wear a hat and sunglasses when he is in the police car. He will play with the big kids for a long time and he is just as happy as can be. I love to watch them play all together with Jake, it really is too cute I am looking forward to watching them play more things together as Jake grows and starts to understand what they are doing.
